A Tip or Two

MSN.com has everything from world news to real estate, and in their “Lifestyle” section they give many tips. Well, I found 25 New Clothing-Care Uses for Old Things, and here are a few that I found most interesting.

Unstick a stubborn zipper by rubbing the teeth on both its sides with a pencil (graphite is an excellent dry lubricant)

Spray a light coat of starch over the interiors and exteriors of canvas or nylon sneakers before wearing them to repel dirt and grime―and protect the just-out-of-the-box look.

Baby powder prevents sweat stains on white shirts. Sprinkle a little on the shirt’s underarms and collar, then iron. The powder forms a barrier that keeps oil and grime from seeping into the threads.
