Positivity, Within

It starts within…

Graduation GRADually Approaching

My college graduation is only 2 days away, and I am having mixed feelings. The only feeling I do not have is Excitement. Yes, I know its a great amazing thing to get a bachelors degree, but I feel as if it’s expected to it not such a big deal to me at this moment. I am proud of myself and thankful for making it this far with the support of my family, friends, and girlfriend but I always knew I would go to college. I was once told by a good friend of mine “that we (college students) do not really value what they are doing and what they are going through because we are surrounded by other students going through the same thing and professors that have already accomplished so much. It’s like having a well paying job, you are happy you are making good money, but how often do you stop and say wow life is good I have a great job, good life, etc. I’m sure not too often, you most only say those things when something good happens at work. Well, students usually moan and complain about so much school work, projects etc, but how often do we say I’m in college making an investment that will payoff down the road. Not very often.” My friend didn’t it put it exactly like that but I put down everything I could remember from our conversation. With that being said, I can say it’s easier said than done.

I will enjoy my moment as I walk across the stage and collect what’s mine, and maybe the joy and excitement will hit me as I’m walking across the stage. Maybe afterward, but soon as I walk across the stage it is time to get to the money and build a foundation for the rest of my life. I will get what I put in, and I will obtain my earnings from this investment called College. Again I want to Thank any and everyone who supported me while I’ve been in school. Most importantly I want to Thank my family, I love you all!

What a Joke!

A while back some of my co-workers and I played a joke on my supervisor while he was gone on vacation. We decided to put aluminum foil on any and everything in his office. I wasn’t at work to see my supervisor’s reaction but I heard he wasn’t too happy (He came to work in a bad mood). I believe we used about 9 rolls or aluminum foil, but pay attention to the details in the picture. We had fun doing this…

Words With Friends

I love this app!!! Although, it does have minor bugs and issues but what app doesn’t? If you do not have this app by now you are missing out, I recommend it for everyone. Even if you are not into word games, this is fun for all ages and it’s free. The only difference between the free and costing app are the advertisements. Well, that is the only thing I have notice between the two.  I think it is cool how anyone can play the same person over and over again. My mom and I have been playing for months, and I play a lot of my friends. This is one of my favorite apps ever… my user name is HAYES2686, I’m ready to go to war with anyone!!!!!

It’s About That Time….

As Mother Day approaches, everyone wants to give the best gift and while showing their mom how much they really mean to them. This year I’m prepared I thoroughly thought my gift out ahead of time, so there will not be any last minute shopping for me. Also, my college graduation is only 9 days away and  I feel that is another gift that I can give; a gift of success and determination. Just like anyone else, I too want to make my mom proud, but have you ever thought about how Mother’s Day came about? Well, here is what I found:

“The history of Mother’s Day is centuries old and goes back to the times of ancient Greeks, who held festivities to honor Rhea, the mother of the gods. The early Christians celebrated the Mother’s festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent to honor Mary, the mother of Christ. Interestingly, later on a religious order stretched the holiday to include all mothers, and named it as the Mothering Sunday. The English colonists settled in America discontinued the tradition of Mothering Sunday because of lack of time. In 1872 Julia Ward Howe organized a day for mothers dedicated to peace. It is a landmark in the history of Mother’s Day.

In 1907, Anna M. Jarvis (1864-1948), a Philadelphia schoolteacher, began a movement to set up a national Mother’s Day in honor of her mother, Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis. She solicited the help of hundreds of legislators and prominent businessmen to create a special day to honor mothers. The first Mother’s Day observance was a church service honoring Anna’s mother. Anna handed out her mother’s favorite flowers, the white incarnations, on the occasion as they represent sweetness, purity, and patience. Anna’s hard work finally paid off in the year 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as a national holiday in honor of mothers .” ~

Pretty interesting huh?
